Canela (6507/7-16 S) – Pilot hole section
What happened:
Pilot hole encountered shallow gas. Observed shallow gas flowing out of well when RIH to open up pilot hole to 26″. POOH and P&A’ed entire pilot hole section.
What was planned:
PWL was 20-30 m away from low probability shallow gas zones.
What was learned:
Avoid planning well location close to shallow gas warning.
What actions are required:
Prepare guidelines for well placement based on 2 x seismic uncertainty.
