Column tank ST3 which was previously used for brine storage has within the last two years been converted to a “slops” tank. This tank does not have an agitator (only 4 jets in the bottom) and has suction 1 m above bottom. The tank is over 10 m tall. When Soiltech operators pump slops from this tank up to surface for treatment, they get all the solids which plug up his unit and the fluid has to be pumped to a surface mud pit before being backloaded to the boat.
Use column tank ST3 for slops
Would be better to take advantage of the “gravity” separation that takes place in a vertical tank and suck fluid from the top for cleaning and disposal. (Oil, water, solids). When Halliburton did the cleaning 2 years ago, a surface mud pit was used for slops. Suction from pit could be done with a rubber hose from top, adjusting section depth depending on fluid and separation. This “slops” pit was then frequently treated, and solids on bottom pumped to the boat.
Consider using the surface pit for slops instead of column tank ST3.
