Negative Operational LL with Wellesley
Carmen (35/10-10S) – Surface section
What happened:
MWD/DD instructed drilling crew to break wrong connection when L/D 26″ BHA. As top part of assy was lifted above stick-up the catwalk securing the lifted Assy, was moved backwards, causing the inner-rod to be bent and damaged. Plan to use Back-up Assy for 17 1/2″ BHA and muster new Back-up assy from onshore.

Break off and L/D 26″ BHA

Important with clear communication from DD to Drill Crew to break correct connection.
